Hi! I am Kelly Stacey Russell, qualified Interior Designer. I am passionate about creating beautiful, comfortable, functional and stylish interiors. My style is colour confident and bold with a touch of vintage character, I love to break the so-called *rules* and I don’t do beige!
Everyone has a personal and unique story that can be told through the design and style of their home, the kind of home that your friends walk into and say “this is so YOU!”.
And when we live in spaces that feel like “us” we are happier, more creative, and filled with joy every time we arrive home.
My ethos is that life is less about finding your dream home, and more about creating one in the home you already have, by using colours, pattern and style to compliment your homes own unique character.
I have a particular affinity for sympathetic renovations of 1850s-1920s Victorian Villas and Bungalows as well as Art Deco moderne homes from the 1930s-1940s, although I work with a variety of properties including retro 1960s-1970s and mid century wonders, turning tired and forgotten rooms into rooms that you won’t ever want to close the door on.
I offer in-home interior consulting in Auckland and Napier (plus online consultations via video calling for all of New Zealand) to provide guidance on the perfect paint colour for every room, as well as personal shopping and fabric procurement for interior projects like furniture upholstery, bay window squabs and soft furnishings. Ultimately my favourite spaces to design are whimsical nurseries for expectant mamas and new babies, gorgeous kids bedrooms and fun playrooms for children – whether you need to fill an entire room or style a wall shelf, I can help.
Aside from enjoying family time with my husband, toddler, mischievous cat and ever-growing raft of houseplants, I enjoy keeping up on the latest interior design trends, studying New Zealand’s heritage and history, and scouting for character pieces to be celebrated in one-of-a-kind displays.
